It provides the ultimate base to experience the very best of the region, from the independent shops and market-town charm of nearby Haddington to the dramatic ruins of Tantallon Castle. For those looking to explore further, you are just eight miles from East Lothian’s pristine coastline, including North Berwick, Yellowcraig, and Tyninghame Beach, and within easy reach of world-class golf courses, local wild swimming, and the buzz of central Edinburgh, just 18 miles away.

• Living & Dining: A fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, dining seating for six, and a comfortable lounge centered around a log-burning stove and flat-screen TV.

• Bedrooms & Bathrooms: Three bedrooms - two doubles and one twin - complemented by two modern bathrooms (one with a walk-in shower, the other with a shower over the bath).

• Outside: A front lawn with private parking, a secure, enclosed rear garden featuring a patio with outdoor seating, and direct access to a private woodland trail.

Surrounded by rolling farmland and scenic woodland walks, the cottage feels wonderfully rural while remaining connected to the region's best destinations.

• In Gifford (1.3 miles): A picturesque village where you can enjoy artisan coffee and homemade baking at Lantern Rouge, browse design-led homewares at Beech & Birch, and head to The Tweeddale Arms for lunch, dinner, or drinks.

• Haddington & Local Provisions (5 Miles): A vibrant, attractive market town packed with independent shops, cafés, artisan bakeries, and premium food merchants. Minato Sushi, The Foraging Goat, Charlie’s Pies and the Cheese Lady are amongst our favourite spots in East Lothian.

• Coast & Culture (Within Easy Reach): Just eight miles from East Lothian’s stunning coastline, world-class golf courses, and seaside hubs like North Berwick, while central Edinburgh is a straightforward 18-mile drive or train ride away.

Things To Note

For larger groups, Ravenswood is also located on site and may be available to book alongside Owl Cottage, subject to availability. 

We want all our guests to have a peaceful time at Owl Cottage and respectfully request that noise is kept to a minimum after 10pm.

One well behaved pet is welcome, however we do ask that pets are not allowed onto furniture or into bedrooms.
